As mentioned in the previous post before, doing detox is like hitting a reset button in your body. Being healthy is not a choice at all and you don’t need reasons to be healthy. (Read: Why you should do a body detox here)

How do you start a detox program? First of all, you need to reduce and cut out all the toxins intakes such as alcohol, sugars, coffee and cigarettes gradually. And here are some tips we’d like to share toward our healthy consumers about what to do during, before and after doing a detox program:

1. Lemon Water 

Lemon hot water contains lots of good benefits. We suggest you to drink hot lemon water during, before and after doing a detox program. Basically everyday, starting right after you wake up. Try to squeeze half of a lemon juice to drink with your water through out the day. Lemon is one kind of a Citrus fruits. It contains a pure concentrated form of citric acid. Due to the acidity and high ph, citric acid pierces and burns out fat molecules.

2. Eat Fiber

There is no better choice than to get dietary fiber before and after doing a detox program, and even in your daily routine intakes. Fiber can be a starter of what to eat first before consuming meats or carbs. Fiber is present in many vegetables, fruits, legumes and whole grains. It helps to increase feeling of fullness, as it is indigestible, but the good thing is fiber doesn’t give affects the way other carbs do. It will prevent you from diabetes. Apples, Carrots, Peas, Cabbage, Kale, Spinach, Broccoli, Celery, Cucumber are excellent detoxifying foods. Remember, eating enough fiber every day may help add a few extra years to your life.

3. Vitamin C

Vitamin C is a popular antioxidant. Antioxidants are form of molecules which help in checking various chemical reactions that occur in our body. It boosts the immune system, helps to control blood pressure and cholesterol levels, prevent heart disease, osteoporosis, anemia, muscle recovery and manage stress levels.

Foods and fruits which are rich in vitamin C: Include dark leafy greens, broccoli, tomatoes, berries, citrus fruits, cauliflower and so on. One thing to remember, choosing over the natural sources of vitamin C is always better than taking supplements.

4. Consume Herbs and More Greens

Help your body cleanse the liver by consuming more herbs such as drinking herbal tea. But the trick is to choose tea leaves that has less caffeine such as green tea as it contains a very high antioxidant to prevent and combat aging.
